Packages
described
on this
page are
available
exclusively
to guests
staying at
Disney
on-site
hotels.
Most
of the Dream Maker
Packages that were
originally offered (remember those?) have been discontinued
- Gold Plan, Silver
Plan, Prince and
Princess Plan, Romance
Package etc. etc.
There are essntially only three
packages now offered, though the dining plan is now available in 3
versions.
The
Magic
Your Way
Package
Plus
Dining,
the Magic
Your Way
Premium
Package
and
the
Magic
Your Way Platinum Package
The
Magic
Your Way
Package
Plus
Dining
has
already
proved to
be very
popular,
as finally
Disney
have
offered a
dining
plan aimed
at the
"rest
of
us"!!
The Magic
Your Way
Premium
Package
is similar
in scale,
scope and
price to
the old
Dream
Maker
"Gold"
plan. i.e.
lavish,
inclusive
and
expensive...
The
Magic Your Way Platinum Package
plan offers even more, adding exclusive personalised extras.
Magic
Your Way Package
Plus Dining
On-site
guests are
eligible for this
new Dining Plan,
which, for most
people, offers
excellent value.
In the past,
Disney has offered
meal plans which
were insanely
priced - basically
you needed to eat
a three-course
meal, every meal,
at the fanciest of
all the Disney
restaurants, to
possibly get the
full value for the
amount you paid! NOT
ANY MORE!
The new dining
plan costs approx $45US a
day per adult and $12US per child
3-9 (taxes included, gratuities extra!),
which is
added on
top of the
accommodation
and Magic
Your Way
ticket.
What
you get for that
is 2 meals and a
snack
daily, per
person.
The meals
are:
one counter
service meal -
main meal and
beverage
one table
service meal - appetizer,
main meal, desert
and beverage
one snack - such
as popcorn or
ice-cream,
Obviously, this
doesn't completely
cover all of your
meal needs, but
considering the
tax and gratuities
are included, this
is very good
value. It is also
less hassle. There
are other
advantages too.
You can swap a
table service meal
for a character
breakfast. You can
put two table
service meals
together and take
in a dinner show
or a meal
at one of
Disney's
finest
"Signature"
restaurants.
Rules
and
Restrictions
Your dining plan
is always based on
the number of
nights of your
stay i.e
if you are
staying
for 7
nights,
each
person
will get 7
counter
service
meals, 7
table
service
meals and
7 snacks.
If you
wish to
put these
together
(as
mentioned
above),
you can do
this, but
you cannot
take 8
days or 6
days of
meals for
your 7
night
package.
Everyone
in the
party must
take the
same
dining
package.
Children
under the
age of 10
must eat
from a
child menu
(if
offered by
the
restaurant).
There is
no
"upgrade"
to allow a
child to
eat from
the adult
menu. (Well, actually there is
a way around this, but it is rather expensive - contact us
if you are interested...)
Not all of
the
hundreds
of
restaurants
on Disney
World are
part of
the dining
package.
For a
complete
list of
the 100+
restaurants
that are
available
to you, along with much more information on the Dining Plan you can
download
the
following
pdf
document.
Recently,
2 other variations on the regular dining plan have been
introduced. I have not had the time to fully write these up,
but in summary:
Quick
service meal plan
2 quick service meals, 2 snacks per person per day, resort
re-fillable mug per person.
May be better for families with small children (that can't
sit through a "proper dinner", and/or if you know
you aren't going to do more than one fancy sit-down meal
during your duration.
At almost $35 per adult and $10 per child, this is not
better value, in our opinion. The regular plan is probably
better for most people...
Deluxe
meal plan
3 table service meals (or quick service if preferred), 2
snacks per person per day, resort re-fillable mug per
person.
Approx $75 US per adult and $20 per child, while the most
expensive plan, it is actually the best value, in terms of
what you could get for your money.
For many people, it is just too much food, plus it puts the
emphasis of almost the entire vacation on "where are we
going to eat next!"
