Airfare.
To get there...
There are few things as volatile as airline prices. Obviously, the prices can vary widely depending on your location, and the season. I will limit the scope of this page to specifics about Ontario and Quebec in Canada. We can of course quote prices from other cities if necessary.
Ottawa
For
the winter
season,
there are direct
flight
from
Ottawa to
Orlando 5 days a week with Westjet.
For other times of the year,
or if you
want more flexibility of the
time of
day that
you
travel, it
may still
be best to
consider
other
carriers... US
Airways, Northwest, United, Delta or Continental
Airlines,
stop in at least one city on the
way to Orlando. Flights are available very early in the morning (around 6am) or mid-morning.
Evening
flights
are also
available
with most
of these
airlines.
Prices can vary widely, and depend on the class of service that is available at the time of booking. Booking early is definitely a good idea if you want to keep the prices as low as possible, particularly if you are travelling in holiday times.
If space is available we should be able to
find you airfare
between $500-700 CAD per person (everything-in).
Airfares lower than
$400 are sometimes
available, but you
will need to be ready
to book immediately. Once this limited space
is gone, you can easily find that you need to spend $800 or more dollars
per person.
Montreal/Trudeau
(formerly Dorval)
Charter flights may then become a more attractive option. Departures are
from Montreal-Trudeau airport (Mirabel no longer offers passenger
flights at all), the flights are direct to Orlando and the
prices are somewhat reasonable. Depending on the exact dates the price will
vary between $600-$750 per adult (approx $40 less for kids). These
flights may not be available every day of the week. This again will
depend on the season. Again, many of these flights leave early in the
morning (which is good because you get most of the day in Disney World),
but will probably mean an overnight stop at an airport hotel at Dorval.
Driving.
The "road trip"
This is still a lower cost option for larger families, and may be an
option if you have enough time to take the extended road trip. It can be
seen as an "adventure", but you need to make sure that the
kids have plenty to do to keep them entertained on the journey.
We want you to know that even if you plan to drive rather than fly, we
are here to help you make the right bookings, for the right hotels, with
the right passes for your family.
Please don't think that you need to
book airfare with us in order for us to be able to help with your
vacation.
