Accommodation
- On-site Advantages
On-site or off-site?
This will be the first question to ask and answer.
Staying on-site
There are many advantages to staying on site.
-
Atmosphere.
You are right in the midst of the magic. The hotels are Disney themed and you remain
immersed in the whole Disney atmosphere.
-
Convenience.
If your children are a little tired (or if you are, come to that!) you can take the complimentary, regular shuttles between the parks and the hotels and have a quick siesta, swim in the pool etc. before going back to the parks. No
trekking to find your car and driving 30 minutes (or more) back to your accommodation.
-
Early
(and late) admission - now
called "Extra
Magic Hours"
The
"Extra Magic
Hours" have been
expanded to
include
"after-hours"
opening as well as
early admission.
This allows
on-site guests
only to
enter one theme
park a day one
hour before
general admission.
One park a day is
also open for up
to 3 hours later
in the evening,
again only for
on-site guests.
You can check for your own travel dates at the
Disney World official website...
-
Dining
Plan.
On-site
guests are
eligible for Disney's various Dining Plans,
which, for most
people, offer
excellent value. For
full details,
please follow this
link to our
"on-site
packages"
page.
-
Extras. Any merchandise that you choose to buy (will you be able to resist it all?!) will be delivered back to your room. It's one way to spot those who are staying off-site - they're the frazzled-looking ones with all the Disney carrier bags hanging off every available limb.
All Moderate and
Deluxe resorts now
have fridges
and coffee-makers
as standard
in-room equipment.
Hotels that are
considered
"conference"
hotels also offer high-speed
internet access,
so if you need to
stay in touch
while on vacation,
this could affect
your choice of
hotel - (see next
page).
