Republic
A
very popular tourist destination. The D.R as it is commonly known,
shares the island of Hispanola with Haiti and has a lot to offer
vacationers of all ages and budgets.
The
main tourist areas are some distance apart. Each area has its own
distinctive selling features and attractions. One really needs to
holiday in each of these areas before really getting to know the D.R.
The regions are listed below.
For
approximately $5000-6000 CDN a family of two adults and two children
under 12, can expect to be comfortably catered to in a superior
all-inclusive resort for one week.
South
East
Punta
Cana
Wonderful white-sand beaches, and millions of palm trees lend
this whole area a totally "tropical" feel. Resorts tend to
feature roofs made from the Cana palms that give the region its name.
Read about the region, and what it has to
offer the travelling family.
Bayahibe

beaches and resorts. Read
all about it here.

Santo
Domingo
This colonial city, the capital of the Domincan Republic, is the
oldest city in the Caribbean. Excellent beach resorts can be found in
this area. These are ideal for the traveller who wants a taste of

resort.

Puerto
Plata
A great location. Good beaches and a large selection of resorts
continue to make Puerto Plata a very popular destination. The resorts
