Four
of our agents were able
to spend time in
Australia last year.
There is so much to talk
about that both Warna
and Edmundo have written
pieces describing their
visits and what
Australia has to offer
family travellers.
First
article written by
Edmundo Roa
The
first thing I must say
about Australia is
"awesome". I
loved Australia and I am
sure anybody would share
my enthusiasm,
especially families with
a bit more time to spend
on their holiday.
Because of the long
flight times - about 25
hours from Ottawa, 22
from Toronto - we
suggest breaking the
trip in Vancouver or
Hawaii.
Australia
is a great place
for families. In
Sydney there are
all kinds of
attractions -
harbour cruises,
city sightseeing
tours, museums,
parks, several
zoo's, nearby
beaches. Darling
Harbour is a
treat in itself,
with even more
for families -
the Aquarium,
Sega world, the
Chinese gardens,
shopping, cafes,
restaurants,
aboriginal music
and cultural
center, more
harbour cruises
- offering you
the opportunity
to lose yourself
in the
breathtaking
views and the
multi million
dollar homes
that surround
the harbour.
Then of course
you can do the
bridge climb,
visit the Opera
house, and the
botanical
gardens. In
Sydney, as in
the rest of
Australia,
there's
accommodation to
suit almost all
budgets and
tastes. |

Outside
of Sydney you have the
continent of Australia
to explore, depending on
how much time you have.
Remember Australia is
about the size of the
United States of America
- you can't see it all
in two weeks! We
recommend Northern
Australia, particularly
the Queensland areas for
clients wanting to visit
during our summer months
and Southern Australia
for our winter month
period.
Queensland, the state
were the great barrier
reef is situated, is
where you might want to
concentrate your
travels. What to do in
Queensland, hmm? Well
there's, sailing,
fishing, snorkeling,
scuba diving - you can
even overnight on the
reef if you want the
total snorkeling-scuba
package.

On
land there are
endless
possibilities.
You can just
relax on a nice
beach or by your
hotel pool, or
you can go horse
back riding,
white water
rafting,
four-wheeling
through the
jungle. You can
take the train
up to Kuranda,
or the sky tram.
You can go into
the rain forest
on an aboriginal
guided tour and
learn about the
flora and fauna
and the way the
aboriginals
lived in the
forest and how
they survived
for 40,000 years
without outside
influence. |
Some
of the most popular
towns in Queensland are
Brisbane, Cairns, Port
Douglas, and the
neighbouring beach
towns. Travel north to
Daintree and Cape
Tribulation. Cairns is
the place to arrange for
the best reef tours and
scuba packages. Off the
coast of Queensland you
have many islands
excellent for families,
with lots of activities,
especially water sports.
To name a few - the
Witsundays, Frasier
Island and the closest
one to Cairns - Fiztroy
Island.
A
big attraction
in Australia is
the outback and
the red center -
Uluru, Ayers
Rock and the
Olgas. Here you
can go on camel
tours, star
gazing tours,
even enjoy
candle light
dinners in the
desert . Also in
the Queensland
outback, from
Cairns you can
do one day,
overnight or one
week camping and
hostel trips.
Enjoy rivers,
waterfalls,
table-lands,
desert-like
areas, old
mining towns,
animals such as
wallabies,
kangaroos,
dingoes (wild
dogs), brumbies
(wild horses)
and even wild
Aussies and
learn a little
something about
old Australia. |

Really
there's so much to see
and do in Australia that
I can't begin to mention
it all, not even all
that I have personally
experienced. The best
thing to do is to
contact us and we'll
take it from there...
