"Junior Suites" versus "Suites"
A junior suite will have a sitting area in addition to the sleeping area, but this is not a separate room. It may have extra useful amenities like a fridge or coffee maker.

• A one bedroom suite will have a bedroom and a separate living room, but quite often suites are designed to offer more luxury for two adults only. Others will have an additional sofa bed and be suitable for families.

• A two bedroom suite is similar to the one bedroom suite but has a second bedroom that connects to the suite.

"Studio Apartment" versus "One (or more) bedroom Apartment"
Even if offered as part of an all inclusive resort package, an apartment will generally have a kitchenette or offer full kitchen facilities. This type of accommodation is great for families as it offers the convenience of having a fridge and food/drink preparation or warming facilities. A studio, like a junior suite, is only one room.

"Balcony" versus "Patio"
Many people prefer an upper floor. Once you are travelling with kids don't overlook the physical advantage of walking and wheeling strollers right out of your door without having to contend with stairs.
